She will be sorrowfully missed by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 49 years Dan Michaud, her daughters Melissa Taylor (David); and Michelle Turley (Kyle); granddaughters Claire Taylor and Kira Turley. Darlene and Dan first met at the age of five and grew up next door to one another on California Ave before getting married and spending the next 39 years together moving between Windsor, Sudbury, Ottawa and New Zealand before finally retiring in 2010 to Amherstburg. One of their many passions was playing golf at Pointe West in the summer and Myrtle Beach, SC in the winter. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and support over the years from the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor Essex and, in particular, to Lauren, Sandra and Cheryl. Also a very special thank you to Extendicare Tecumseh - Tom, Bobbi and all of their incredibly kind and compassionate PSWs and Nurses - the unsung heroes who can never be paid enough or thanked enough. And finally to the additional support from Home Instead (Regan, Amalia, Natalia, Olivia, Cheryl, Rob and many others) who became family over the last 2 years. As per Darlene’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral mass. Interment together with her daughter Barbara will be at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, August 20, 2021 at 11:00am.
