Obituary of Andrew Downes

DOWNES, Andrew January 31, 1942 - July 10, 2021 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Andrew at the age of 79. Reunited with his wife Joan (nee Boismier). Loving father of Terry (Vicky), Richard (Jalaina), and Michael. Proud papa of Danielle (Matt), and Brianna, and great papa of Kingston and Maverick.Predeceased by his parents Walter and Irene (nee Lessard). Brother of the late Walter (Yvonne), John (Janice), Rita (the late Joe), Pauline (Larry), Russell "Guy" (Donna), Sheila (Michael), the late Mike (Ruth), and Sally. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Andy worked for Ford Motor Company as an auto mechanic. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and an amazing hockey coach and sports organizer. Thank you for being our father, we will cherish our memories forever. We would like to thank the staff from ParaMed, Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, as well as Windsor Regional Hospital - Metropolitan Campus for the care and compassion given toward our dad.
