Obituary of Catherine Jo-Anne Davis

DAVIS, Catherine Jo-Anne February 16, 1948 - July 7, 2021 Catherine "Jo-Anne" Davis was born on February 16, 1948, to the late Lillie Bell Banks and Marvin Crosby in Windsor, Ontario. Jo-Anne was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, George Daniel Davis. She leaves behind her children Leslie Davis-Smith (Floyd) and George Davis (Rosemary), and her grandchildren Michaela, Mason, Amaris, Sarah-Rose, Elijah, Rebekah, Judah and 1 great-grandchild Zemira. Beloved sister of the late Stella Williams, the late Marvin Crosby, Marva Crosby, Eugene (Elaine) Crosby, Philip (Geraldine) Crosby, Rebecca (Henry) Davis, Mark (Kim) Crosby, Lamont (Krista) Crosby and Cissy Crosby. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 7, 2021, at 73 years of age. She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends. A life-long resident of Windsor, Jo-Anne attended McGregor Public School and Herman Secondary School before she married and started a family. As her children grew, she later joined the workforce and was a registered nurse for 35 years at a local nursing home in the city. At the time of her retirement, she was charge nurse at Berkshire Care Centre in Windsor. A graduate of the St. Clair College nursing program, she later taught a PSW course for several years at St. Clair College. Jo-Anne was a follower of Christ since a very young age. In her younger years, she was the choir director of the boys choir at Mount Zion Church of God in Christ. Later she worshipped at Ontario Church of God in Christ, and in her final years served as the Mother of Cutting Edge International Church under the leadership of Pastor James Davis.
