Obituary of Josephine Fairbairn

It is with great sadness that Jo's family announces her death on June 5, 2018. She is survived by her daughter; Jean Weldon (Jim), son; John Fairbairn (Maureen), Grandson; Dann (Jeanette), Great-grandson; Cody, as well as "Steps"; Dawn (Dave), Bill (Tammy), Shawn (Melissa) and "Stepgrands"; Tayler, Mackenzie, Jordyn, Kennedy, James, Carter, Cassie and Ryan. Jo is survived by her remaining brother Clarence (Fran) and sisters; Gladys and Teresa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews on both the Ruggaber and Fairbairn sides. She is predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Violet Ruggaber and her brothers; Nick (late Ellan Mae) and Gord (Henriette). It was Jo's wish that there be no memorial or funeral service. She felt that anyone who wished to see her had done so by the time she had to leave us. Cremation has taken place and the family is respecting her wishes in this regard. The family wishes to express many thanks to their darling Aunt Galdys for her support during the last years of their Mom (and Dads) life; she was always there for them, "We love you!". In addition, the family would like to thank the staff at Banwell Gardens for the excellent care Jo received during her stay; they made a difficult time easier to bear. Last, but certainly not least, a giant thank you to the members of the Forest Glade Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, of which Jo was a long-time member. Thank you for the visits and support during the last difficult years for both Mom and Dad. One last request, in lieu of flowers or donations "The next time one of Jehovah's Witnesses calls at your door, in memory of our Mom, please let them explain the Bibles hope of the Resurrection to you. This is what gives us such strength now, knowing we will see her, and Dad, again, here on a Paradise Earth. (John 5: 23, 29). Thank you!"
