Obituary of Maria Peter

PETER, Maria (Ivanovics) It is with great sadness that we share the news of the peaceful passing of Maria on October 25, 2022. Born in Gyor, Hungary on July 26, 1936. Predeceased by her husband Tibor (2008). Loving mother to Tibor (Karen) and Kathy (Angelo) Verardi. Proud grandmother of Antonietta (Jerry) Bruner, Ryan (Rachael), the late Bryce (2017) and Dylan (Erica) also cherished nagymama to her great grandchildren Olivia, Ariella, Amara and Aaliyah. Predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters and survived by brother Joseph (Susan) Ivanovics. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Maria’s kindness, generosity, good nature and compassion will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her. Maria always put her family first, she was a great cook of Hungarian food and was always willing to share it with anyone who entered her home. She was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and was an active member of the Hungarian community at church and the Mindszenty Hall where she was often seen wearing her traditional outfits, singing in the choir and participating in countless events and celebrations. Her passion was dance as she began studying ballet at a young age. Most of her life was dedicated to taking care of the family, she will truly be missed. We would like to thank the nurses on the Oncology floor of WRH-Met Campus who took great care of Maria and her family during this very difficult time. Cremation has already taken place and a private family celebration of her life will take place later. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte), 519-254-2585.
